Percentage and fixed payouts
Use percentages for a traditional split such as 50%, 30%, and 20%. Use fixed amounts when the group has already agreed exact prizes. The calculator rejects a percentage total other than 100% and fixed amounts that do not equal the full prize pool.
How rounding works
Money is calculated in cents. For percentages that create fractions of a cent, the calculator floors each result then gives remaining cents to the largest fractional remainders. The displayed payouts always total exactly to the prize pool.

How many places should pay?
For a smaller home tournament, paying the top two or three places is common. The fair answer is the one your group agrees on. Consider player count, buy-in size, and whether a flatter payout keeps everyone engaged.
